Phi
Phi islands consist of Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Ley, Ko
Yung (Mosquito Island) and a few more smaller limestone
rocks.

Ko Phi Phi Don and the other islands emerged from a small Muslim fishing community
into a prime travel destination due to a real great attractive environment. The
final push to put Phi Phi Islands on the world travel map was for sure the film
making of "The Beach" with Leonardo Di Caprio.
I would say instead of all this manipulated protests against the film shooting,
they should have praised Mr. Di Caprio and the production team to shoot the film
at Phi Phi Ley, Maya Beach is on Phi Phi Ley, for more on this manipulated

The Tsunami cleared almost all structures on Ko Phi Phi Don,
but 2 year later all was restored, up and running.
Cynics say it was a good clean
up
since most of the structures have been real ugly, quickly and cheap put
together.
There is no need to explain a lot, Phi Phi island is great, have a swim, a bath in the sun, maybe a dive in the
emerald sea.
Do
some snorkeling in the warm tropical water around Phi Phi Islands and
have a look for the
fish they are always curious on this 2 leg
black creatures with the air bubbles who try to watch them, the underwater
world is of great beauty.
The area around Phuket, Phi Phi islands
and the Islands off
the Andaman Sea coast north of Phuket are among the world's top ten
scuba diving locations. Phuket, Phi Phi
islands and the Andaman Sea Coast with archipelagos like Similan
Islands, further north is the Surin Archipelago offer exotic culture, adventure
in the deep blue with sting ray, whale shark, rainbow colored coral
banks, unforgettable food and so on.

golf course on Ko Phi Phi Don, do you need one ?
There is no ferry
from Koh Phi Phi to Koh
Lipe.
Koh Lipe is about 400 km south west
of Koh Phi Phi in Thailand's Satun Province. If someone wants to go
from Phi Phi Islands to Koh Lipe in the Tarutao Archipelago you
first need to go to Krabi Town, take a bus to either Satun or Hat
Yai and from there to Bak Para Pier, that's the place where the
ferry for Koh Tarutao and Koh Lipe is leaving.

foreigner wont find a job in Koh Phi Phi unless he or she is a good
dive master or has some relations with a hotel or beach resort
operator on Koh Phi Phi. Jellyfish at Phi Phi is almost zero, Maya
beach photo are below, but pls. note Ko Phi Phi Don is not in Phang
Nga province it's in Krabi province, that's about 100 km to the

Phi Phi longtail boats are around
everywhere and you can hire them, be tough when negotiating the
price other wise they pull you over the table. Rasada pier is at the
end of Rasada street in Phuket town, if you have a problem with it,
take a motocyctaxi from anywhere in
Phuket City or Phuket Town, they carry you there for Baht
40,-.

Koh Phi Phi or Langkawi is simple, its Koh Phi Phi Don. |

You can go on
live-aboard diving adventure via daytrips or more extended,
there are plenty of dive points and dive centers.
Dive courses are available at Ko Phi Phi Don for the would be scuba
diver.

But as a simple matter of facts most
of of the travelers and tourists don't come to Ko Phi Phi Don
for scuba diving, they come to lay down on the beach and let the sun
do the job.
Get to Maya Beach for a feeling what
happen with Mr. Leonardo Di Caprio when he made the famous Beach
Movie. Especially Japanese Ladies are really after this. |

offer day trips to Phi Phi Islands and the
Trang Archipelago.

there is no regulation like on the Tarutao
Islands

the Ko Phi Phi Don pier they
usually make a tour to the
most interesting location.
That is Maya Beach, slowly passing Viking
Cave and some limestone
ravines with small beaches and
some other Phi Phi Islands beaches.

ferry or speedboat and have a
look for your
phi phi hotel. Phi Phi
Islands are a rather small area
and mainly accessible

this Phi Phi Islands tour in
the morning, in the morning all
the crowd is around. They
come with everything which swims
from all around southern
Thailand carrying the
tourists from one spot to
another. When you take a longtail boat take
one with a roof, the roof is
quite flimsy anyway but it
protects from the sun. If you
make
your Phi Phi trip without this
shelter you will be badly burnt
from the sun afterwards. |
