The
islands
consist of Ko Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Ley, Ko
Yung (Mosquito Island) and a few more smaller limestone
rocks.
The islands emerged from a small Muslim fishing community
into a prime travel destination due to a great attractive environment. The
final push to the slands on the world travel map was for sure the film
making of "The Beach" with Leonardo Di Caprio.
I would say instead of all this manipulated protests against the film
shooting, they should have praised Mr. Di Caprio
and the production team to shoot the film at Maya Beach, for more on this manipulated

The Tsunami cleared almost all structures,
but 2 year later all was restored, up and running.

There is no need to explain a lot, this place is great, have a swim, a bath in the sun, maybe a dive in the
emerald sea.

some snorkeling in the warm tropical water around and
have a look for the
fish they are always curious on this 2 leg
black creatures with the air bubbles who try to watch them, the underwater
world is of great beauty.
The area around Phuket and the Islands off
the Andaman Sea coast north of Phuket are among the world's top ten scuba diving
locations. Phuket
and the
Andaman Sea with archipelagos like
Similan
Islands, further north is the Surin Archipelago offer exotic culture, adventure
in the deep blue with sting ray, whale shark, rainbow colored coral
banks, unforgettable food and so on.
Phuket and Phi Phi have all
the right ingredients for a perfect sun bathing, diving or just
relaxing holiday or vacation, oh, I forgot to tell you there is no
golf course, do you need one ?

Koh Lipe is to travel about 400 km south west
to Thailand's Satun Province. If someone wants to
travel to Koh Lipe in the
Tarutao Archipelago you
first need to go to Krabi Town, take a bus to either Satun or Hat
Yai and from there to Bak Para Pier, that's the place where the
ferry for Koh Tarutao and Koh Lipe is leaving. More Q & A further

Ko Phi Phi Don
and the other
island of the
small archipelago
belong to
Krabi province, but it
is more easier accessible from
Phuket. |

PhiPhi pier they
usually make a turn to the
most interesting location.
That is Maya Beach, slowly

Cave and some limestone
ravines with small beaches

your hotel.
The islands are a rather small and
mainly accessible by boat
because of the steep

east and Phang Nga Province is to the north.

side are more pretty spots to explore, like

Jellyfish are very
seldom, the last problem was, the Marine and Coastal
Resources Department of Thailand
has warned -Nov. 5. 08- of box
jellyfish attacks after the
highly poisonous species was
found off Koh Phi Phi Don in Krabi
province, this was the only time
in the last 4 years.
The
box jellyfish is not common in
Thai waters.
Vinegar is the best
solution to reduce pain from a
jellyfish sting before arriving
at the hospital. Water should
not be used, as this increases
the pain

You can go on
live-aboard diving adventure via daytrips or more extended,
there are plenty of dive points and dive centers.
Dive courses are available at Ko Phi Phi Don for the would be scuba
diver. Live aboard diving in
Thailand out of Phuket and Khao Lak with live aboard boats to
Similan islands, Richelieu Rock, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang,
are good examples for great scuba diving location.
